PELANTIKAN & 1st TRAINING OF TRAINER YFCC INDONESIA

Jakarta, (11/09/16) enam pendaftar Pengurus Pusat Youth for Climate Change (YFCC) Indonesia terpilih dilantik sebagai staff baru Pengurus Pusat YFCC Indonesia. Agenda pelantikan tersebut merupakan puncak dari rangkaian open recruitment Pengurus Pusat YFCC Indonesia yang telah dimulai sejak bulan Juli 2016.

Setelah melewati beberapa tahapan penyaringan mulai dari seleksi berkas, interview, action test 1 hingga action test 2 terpilihlah 6 pengurus pusat baru YFCC Indonesia yaitu Syafararisa Dian Pratiwi dan Syarah Meylinda sebagai Staff Divisi Keuangan, Aulia Damayanti sebagai Staff Divisi Pengembangan Sumber Daya Anggota, Richard Mahendra Putra dan Wira Arif Budiman sebagai Staff Divisi Kajian & Riset Strategis, serta Sapto Adi Nugroho sebagai Staff Divisi Komunikasi & Informasi.

Dalam agenda pelantikan tersebut, Riska selaku Ketua Panitia Open Recruitment memaparkan bahwa proses open recruitment yang panjang ini dibuat dengan harapan dapat meningkatkan softskill dari para calon pengurus sendiri dan dapat mengoptimalkan kinerja maupun dampak yang diberikan YFCC Indonesia pada lingkungan dan masyarakat. Selaku Ketua Umum YFCC Indonesia, Kimi pun menekankan akan pentingnya kualitas dalam pemilihan pengurus baru YFCC Indonesia dibandingkan sekedar kuantitas. Oleh karena itu penerimaan pengurus baru tersebut tidak menetapkan kuota, tapi didasarkan pada terpenuhinya kualifikasi yaitu memiliki nilai di atas 200 dari total nilai 400. Total nilai 400 tersebut didapatkan dari empat unsur penilaian yaitu kepribadian, komitmen, manajemen organisasi serta pengetahuan dan ketrampilan.

Nurifood Inspiring Center menjadi saksi hikmatnya proses pelantikan pengurus baru tersebut. Setelah mengucapkan sumpah jabatan, menandatangani berita acara pelantikan, dan penyerahan kaos YFCC Indonesia secara simbolis, maka keenam pendaftar terpilih tersebut telah dinyatakan resmi sebagai pengurus pusat YFCC Indonesia periode 2016-2018. Ucapan selamat pun menyambut peresmian mereka baik dari Dewan Penasehat, Dewan Pembina, Pengurus lama, para anggota YFCC Indonesia maupun publik.

Usai upacara pelantikan, agenda pun dilanjutkan dengan Training of Trainer (ToT) YFCC Indonesia dengan tema Media dan Publikasi yang dibawakan oleh Muhamad Marwan selaku Dewan Pembina YFCC Indonesia yang bekerja pada salah satu media publikasi di Jakarta Pusat. Training tersebut ia bawakan dengan sangat interaktif karena disampaikan tidak hanya dua arah, melainkan ada game interaktif dan praktik langsung yang menjadikan peserta mudah memahami dan fun dalam mengikuti ToT.

Dengan adanya ToT tersebut diharapkan peserta dapat memahami fungsi maupun tujuan media dan publikasi serta mengimplementasikannya dalam kehidupan sehari-hari baik untuk mendukung kinerja di YFCC Indonesia maupun akademik dan karir mereka. ToT YFCC Indonesia merupakan program dari Divisi Pengembangan Sumber Daya Anggota YFCC Indonesia dalam rangka meningkatkan kapabilitas pengurus dalam menjalani kinerjanya di YFCC Indonesia, sehingga harapannya alumni Pengurus YFCC Indonesia menjadi pribadi yang komitmen, bertanggungjawab dan professional.

THE REQUIREMENTS & PROCEDURES

1. Youth (18-28 years old) staying/living in Jabodetabek area is eligible to apply.
2. Have passion on environmental issues, especially on Climate Change.
3. Applicant is required to be passionate working in new organizational environment, fast to adapt, and willing to gain experiences and develop networks.
4. Ready to give contribution – time, energy, and idea, in improving YFCC Indonesia  and to commit the responsibility of the division chosen.
5. Follow all YFCC Indonesia regulations, ethics, and the recruitment flows.
6. Applicant may use English or Bahasa Indonesia in filling out the form.
7. Applicant has to make a divisional project plan, in accordance with which division the applicant has chosen.
8. The application will be considered as complete and valid if the applicant already filled out all required questions and sent all files (divisional project plan and photo) to oprecyfccid@gmail.com, by the latest on July 15th, 2016  at 23:59PM GMT+7.
9. Only successful applicant who will be notified to their personal e-mail on July 18th, 2016.
10. The notified applicant has to attend an interview session and present their divisional project plan to the board of committee.
11. Both interview and presentation will be held on July 23rd-24th, 2016.

DIVISION PREFERENCES

Here is information about the divisions in YFCC Indonesia :
1. Strategic Research and Studies (Kajian Strategis) 

“Discover Resolution and Construct Projection through Idea Deliberation” You love research? You are into writing? What about great discussion? Then, think no more! This division is where your brilliant mind belongs. The division’s main responsibilities are arranging a high quality biweekly  online discussion Ahad Cerdas (ACER), improving youths’ insights through  Children’s Climate Class at any school, and all academic and research related thingy.

2. Internal Affairs and Capacity Building Division (Pengembangan Sumber Daya Anggota)

The division’s main responsibility is maintaining internal affairs of YFCC Indonesia and endorsing the capacity building of the members. You are responsible to bond YFCC Indonesia’s members and alumni, develop a “healthy” organizational environment, know and keep YFCC Indonesia’s  inventories. If you are friendly, sociable, and love planning ‘quality time’ for the rest of the members, this is your place!

3. Finance and Funding Division (Keuangan dan Bisnis Kemitraan) 

The main job is establishing partnerships between YFCC Indonesia and other stakeholders – companies, foundations, institutions, government, etc. Besides, you will be responsible to bargain and bid the deal and do negotiations, particularly in terms of financial assistance and material  supports. If you love managing money, love expanding networks to a range of diverse stakeholders, and understand how to do marketing and branding, this is your division!

4. Administration Division (Administrasi)

Our main job is managing, making and collecting all documents which related to YFCC Indonesia. This includes making proposals, letters, and any other documents. In Administration division, you will be likely to have more  opportunities to become a great administrator who will be responsible to ‘keep’ other YFCC Indonesia’s important documents. Furthermore, keeping YFCC Indonesia’s assets to inventory is also our responsibility.

5. Creative Design and Public Relation Division (Kominfo)

This division is designed for those who believe that branding is the most effective strategy. The main job is promoting YFCC Indonesia by various media. You will also be responsible to capture any moments in YFCC Indonesia’s activities and events, handle the press media and press release for YFCC Indonesia in many awesome events. If you are creative, able to work under pressure, possessing basic design skill, or loving creative writing and social-media, and are fascinated in technology, this is your division!

DIVISIONAL PROJECT PLAN

1. This Project Plan is an important part of the requirements for being a YFCC National Board member.
2. Each applicant should make a project plan according to the division they choose.
3. The project plan should be presented in front of all YFCC National Board committees on the day of interview.
4. The proposal idea should be made according to which division you choose:

a. Strategic Research and Studies Division: Make a roadmap in PowerPoint (in chronological order) on how youths can gauge people’s interest in reducing the emission on Earth (it is suggested for you to analyze what are the top two or three of world’s problems in terms of emission, then you may make one roadmap for one problem that you have figured out). You also need to explain how big your project plan impacts on society would be, and how would you measure that impact (analyze the outcome).

b. Internal Affairs and Capacity Building Division: Present an idea for capacity building activity in detail (Elaborate your concept, explain how will you make it real, what element you need to make it real, why do you think this activity is important for member, estimate the budgeting)

c. Finance and Funding Division: Explain your creative idea about how to fund our activity (Make a detail about what you are going to do, How will you make it real, What do you need to make it real, estimate the budgeting and income)

d. Administration Division: How to be a great administrator? (Explain in detail what you are going to do, how will you do it, and what is the importance of it)

e. Media and Creative Design Division: You need to submit an interesting  A4-sized poster, comprising:
1. The Importance of education on climate change in today’s era.
2. Idea for International Climate Day event (name, theme, concept, and agenda of the event)
3. Your available contacts.

Inspirations for Acts of Leadership

“On behalf of the Secretary-General, it is my honour to invite you to attend the High-Level Signature Ceremony  of the Paris Agreement, that will take place at the United Nations Headquarters, in New York, on 22 April 2016. By signing the Agreement on 22 April and accepting it through their national processes, countries will help ensure the Agreement enters into force and get implemented as quickly as possible, in collaboration with a wide range of other actors.”Who wouldn’t be excited receiving such an invitation from the Secretary General of the United Nations ? I had to come to get a feel and see first hand the global efforts in implementing the Paris Agreement that begins with the signing. As the manager of The Climate Reality Project Indonesia, this experience will be a leverage in motivating climate leaders to be involved in more acts of leadership.I could sense the excitement inside the UN General Assembly Hall as statement after statement during the opening ceremony built up the momentum. Representatives of youth, business, civil society, group of countries and actor Leonardo DiCaprio, the UN Messenger of Peace, had strong statements urging the implementation of Paris Agreement. A touching moment came when 197 childrens joined the ceremony and formed climate chain in front of world leaders. They are representing the Parties that adopted the Paris Agreement In the end, 175 countries signed the Paris Agreement, by far the largest number of countries ever to sign an international agreement on a single day. Leaders then delivered national statements, addressing their intention to ratify and/or outlining their national climate change policies and actions. Climate Leader At the United Nations General Assembly Hall I sat next to Nana Firman, the exemplary climate leader from Indonesia. Nana was first trained by Mr. Al Gore and The Climate Reality Projet in Melbourne in 2009, then in Jakarta in 2011 and Chicago in 2013. Nana who is a White House Champion of Change and is currently coordinating Muslim outreach for OurVoices, a global faith and spiritual climate action network, was in New York to present The Islamic Climate Change Declaration to the President of the UN General Assembly. The occasion marked the official launch of the Global Muslim Climate Network, as support for climate action within the world’s second largest faith group continues to grow. Taking Climate Action to the Next Level Our next venture at the United Nations Headquarters was a High Level Event themed Taking Climate Action to the Next Level: Realizing the Vision of the Paris Agreement. The event focused on highlighting how all actors of society and economy can accelerate action, learn from each other, and replicate and scale successful initiatives and activities that will deliver the transformative implementation of the landmark Paris Climate Change Agreement and of the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development. The highlight of the meeting was a live conversation between the UN Secretary General, Ban Ki-moon and Bertrand Piccard, the pilot of Solar Impulse 2, a zero-fuel plane on an around-the-world journey who was flying over the Pacific. Solar Impulse, powered only by the sun, demonstrates that clean technologies can achieve impossible goals with a clear message: everybody could use the plane’s technologies on the ground to halve our world’s energy consumption, save natural resources and improve our quality of life. Al Gore – Focus on Information Al Gore, the great integrator, that was how Dr. Robert Orr the moderator addressed Al Gore and invited him to speak to make sense of things being said by the panel. The Chairman of The Climate Reality Project stressed his focus on information. Publics have to have the information they can visualize, easily understand and use as the basis for action and for convincing governments to do the right thing. The mandatory information transparency requirement of the Paris Agreement would presumably result in very large flows of information to UNFCCC and elsewhere “I am anxious to make sure that such information is of high quality, vetted and presented in a visual way that I and non-scientist and non-engineers can understand, and therefore can be used for basis of political persuasion, ” Mr. Gore said. At the end of the event, I realized that he was talking about The Climate Reality Project. The fact that he raised the issue in a world class meeting attended by world leaders and eminent persons is really an encouragement for all climate leaders to engange in more acts of leadership. I reread the end of the invitation mentioned in the beginning of this blog post: Your presence throughout the day will contribute to making this date an historic milestone in which the world moves from aspiration to action in tackling climate change. It was indeed a historic event.
